Apple Press Conference Kicks Off – iPhone4

by Litobro on Jul.16, 2010, under Uncategorized

Apple will not be providing a live audio or video feed to the public, so we will all have to rely on photos and text sent out by the lucky bloggers who got into this press conference. Another source seems to say that Apple, more specifically Steve Jobs, already knew about the antenna issue, he just liked the design too much to change it.

The conference has reportedly kicked off with a youtube video.

FaceTime! Wait, No Friends With FaceTime? Call Apple!

by Litobro on Jun.25, 2010, under Uncategorized

FaceTime

Us nerds have no friends. Or us non-nerds have no friends nerdy enough to get iPhone 4′s. Or us nerds with friends without iPhone 4′s. Or us nerds with anti-apple/iPhone friends. Whatever. You can still try out FaceTime. It is a bit awkward though. Simply call 1-888-Face-Time and you are greeted by an Apple employee ready to take you through how to use FaceTime and some of the features. Apparently the whole guided tour takes about 3 minutes. Sadly, it’s only open 8AM to 8PM CDT. I wonder how many chat roulette penis’ end up there.

by Litobro on Jun.24, 2010, under Uncategorized

What’s this? Seems AT&T has some techs at the Soho store, nothing too out of the ordinary. What is strange for being in an apple store is that they are using blackberries and Dell laptops. GASP! Someone get the steve police! They look so uncomfortable on their little folding table.

Well, unless you have a functional iPhone 4, you’re out of luck to get iMove iPhone, but if you do, time to pay up. Apple want’s only 5 bucks for this app, and it looks quite nice. An editing tool in full 720p for one of the nicest mobile phone cameras on the market, what else can we ask for? (Actually, quite a lot I won’t go into detail on)

San Diego! Set for the same day that the iPhone 4 comes out, Microsoft that they are probably holding opening ceremonies and parties 4 doors down! But if we get lucky, Apple will embarrass them with the huge lines waiting for the much-nicer-than-old-iphones iphone 4.

A shopper at the Fashion Valley Mall discovered the store would be opening on June 24 despite the fact that Microsoft has not yet released information to the public. There is however a website available for the store you can check out here.

Apple iPad AT&T Security Breached

by Litobro on Jun.09, 2010, under Uncategorized

This time it’s bad, approximately 114 000 iPad owners have had private information breached. We’re talking CEO’s, military officials and many important politicians. So what happened?

Not too long after the iPad release Goatse Security, a group who has found real vulnerabilities in Firefox and Safari, discovered that when sending the ICC-ID in a HTTP request, you could receive unencrypted information back. The ICC-ID is a unique identifier for SIM cards and could be guessed based on known ICC-IDs. The only requirement besides having ID’s was spoofing your user agent to that of an iPad.

AT&T seem to be the guys at fault here and have closed the hole. Unfortunately, before Goatse published their findings apparently the script used for harvesting confidential information was shared with a number of third-parties prior to the patch having been released.

So who’s affected? Many individuals, and even more shockingly the CEO of NY Times, Time Inc, Dow Jones and many others. Even the US government and military are not immune, for example, William Eldredge who commands the largest operational B-1 bomber group in the US Air Force was on the list. We can even see who appears to be Rahm Emanuel of the Senate, members of NASA, the Department of Homeland Security, the FAA, FCC, and dozens more.

If anything, this just adds fuel to the fire of why not to buy an Apple iPad as was shown in my detailed post explaining why it still sucks.
