A Utah woman was given directions by google maps on her blackberry to walk on a highway, she was promptly hit by a car and is now suing google for damages.

There’s always those stupid labels on items, do not swallow this mattress, remove plastic before eating, you know, those stupid ones. Thankfully, google has a disclaimer which says:

Walking directions are in beta. Use caution – This route may be missing sidewalks or pedestrian paths.

Very simple directions, USE CAUTION! The directions she received involved walking down a street, Deer Valley Drive, or Utah State Route 224. This street not surprisingly does not have sidewalks, as is very evident from this picture shown above. According to the court documents, she decided to follow google anyways and get hit by a car. BAM!

She is suing in excess of $100 000. If google asked you to jump off a bridge, would you do it? I bet this woman might.
